Welcome to Craigie Wood.
The house, in its own six acres of land, is only 4 miles from Inverness on the Black Isle but is located in an isolated area of superb countryside.
Overlooking Munlochy Bay to the north, it has unsurpassed views westwards through Strathconon and Glens Orrin and Affric. On a clear day we can see a Sister of Kintail, 44 miles away.
Locally there are spectacular walks on the headland (see our Activities page) from where you may see the famous Moray Firth Dolphins and other unusual wild life. The Red Kite is common in this area.
The house is ideally situated for short trips to Inverness and Loch Ness. Cawdor and Brodie Castles, Culloden and Fort George are all within easy reach.
Northward are the Cromarty and Dornoch Firths with historic and attractive maritime towns and villages.
Craigiewood is an excellent starting point for more ambitious journeys to the West Coast. Inverewe, Ullapool, Gairloch, Loch Maree, Torridon and Skye are an easy day trip away.
We are also well placed for a stop-over en-route to the Orkney Islands. The ferry terminals are about two and a half hours distant, by road.
